The Sonar Transient plug does what this does and a little more actually. To me, this is a plug everyone should have in their toolbox and thanks to Sonar 8, you do to an extent. I still have no idea why I bought it to be honest because it looks lame.but don't let looks fool you. SPL Transient Designer: I'd be lost without this little baby. As of now for me, I'm still messing with it. Someone will chime in on a good use for this. It could definitely help repair a tone or enhance it, but my stuff doesn't get printed it if may need to be repaired. As of now, it's nothing that improves what I already have to any great length. I'm sure at some point I might be able to.
I've tried it a few times but can't say it's something I've had a use for right now. Precision Enhancer kHz: This plug sounded fairly impressive in the demo video they show you. I'll give you mine and go right down my list from my UAD purchases. Just about all their plugs can be used on anything, but some of us have our favorites for certain situations.
But tone wise, they sound the same to me but the SE is less card usage and you'll be able to run more of them. The real plug changes sounds with a slight turn of each knob, the SE seems to need more of a turn with each knob to hear results. The difference I notice is in the sensitivity. Anyway, I like to think I have a good set of ears on me considering I'm a rocker, but in my opinion, I can't tell a difference in sound from the authentic one from the SE version. You get both the real and the SE all in one purchase, so no worries. Meaning, you get the real modeled plug and an SE version of the plug which is a light simulated version which is less cpu intense. Next, some of their "authentic" type plugs also give SE versions. However, the drawback with the plug is you will not be able to process in real time during tracking like you'd be able to with the ourboard versions.
If the question was geared more towards "how do *YOU* use UAD plugs?" I'll give you the rundown of how I use mine.for what it's worth.įirst, I think their modeling capability is spot on. I want to address the question of "how are you using UAD plugins?" If you were seeking "how to" Frank totally hooked you up with perfect information. I'll try to keep this as brief as possible. Just hoping to be informative and insightful. Sorry I wrote you a book the last time I replied to one of your posts. You're probably cringing right now seeing my name posting.
